It is designed for candidates that are responsible for assessing learners competencies on vocational qualifications.

About this course

The Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement focusses on assessing in an educational or training environment.

The course has two units:
  1.  Understanding the principles and practices of assessment 
  2.  Assess vocational skills, knowledge and understanding 

The course assessment is a portfolio evidence that consists of a written assessment and four vocational assessments.




Why this course?

This qualification is designed for those that assess candidates in a training or classroom environment.

Previous assessing experience is not required, but you must have access to two candidates to carry out the four vocational assessments.

It is suitable for all industries and for anyone that assesses vocational competence, without the need to carry out workplace assessments.

Many awarding organisations will require teachers and trainers that assess learners on accredited qualifications to be qualified assessors.

Classroom

The three day classroom course is delivered regularly in London and Manchester.

You will complete the theoretical Unit 1 during the three days under the guidance of our experienced assessor. We will also help you plan your four vocational assessments for Unit 2.

After the three face to face teaching days, you will return to work to carry out the four vocational assessments, one of which will be observed by a qualified assessor.

Webinar

This three day video webinar course replicates the classroom course without the need to travel to a venue. 

During the three virtual days our experienced tutor will facilitate you completing the theoretical Unit 1, in addition to helping you plan your four vocational assessments  

You will then return to your workplace in order to complete the four vocational assessments, with the final assessment being observed by a qualified assessor.

Our self paced online course is the most flexible option that you can start at any point and study around your own schedule.

You will complete a written assessment for Unit 1 with step by step video guidance. 

Electronic resources will help you plan, carry out and write up your four vocational assessments. The final assessment must be observed by a qualified assessor.
