About this course

The Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training (previously DTLLS) provides teacher status in the post 16 and adult teaching sector. 

The course consists of seven units:
  1. Developing teaching, learning and assessment in education and training
  2. Teaching, learning and assessment in education and training 
  3. Theories, principles and models in education and training
  4. Wider professional practice in education and training
  5. Action Research
  6. Developing, using and organising resources within a specialist area
  7. Inclusive Practice

Learners must produce a portfolio of evidence that is a combination of written assessments and practical teaching evidence. They must log 100 hours of teaching practice, including eight lesson

The Level 5 Diploma is designed for those with teaching experience, looking to gain full teacher status in the post 16 sector.
